TACTICS: Sharing space, switching roles, planning ahead, etc.
QEP: Using space available, throwing and receiving object, moving opponent off balance, etc.
DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Students are paired up, placed in a quarter section of the badminton court and given a tennis ball. One student tosses the ball up in the air at shoulder height while the other student lets it bounce first, catches and tosses in a new spot for the partner. Ball must bounce within the boundaries of the court. After releasing the ball, the tosser can not block or contact the teammate when going after the ball.
Layer 2: Students may no longer catch the ball. After the ball bounces, the student must tap the ball with their palm of their hand. Objective is to send ball in an area where opponent cannot return it in less than one bounce. After three games, students find new partner.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Switch/rotate if teams are pairs of students.
- Increase the playing surface.
SAFETY:
- If ball goes out of court, wait until safe to retrieve it.
- No contact with other students.
